I need to be more like a kid again!

So this last week, my youth pastor really challenged us about memorizing scripture. I realized that although I had learned quite a few scripture verses when I was younger (at summer camp, vbs, etc.) Over the past few years I have become stagnant in my fervor for memorizing scripture. I realized that if I were to apply as much time and energy now on memorization as when I was a kid, then I could possibly ALREADY have whole books of the New Testament hidden in my heart through memorization.

This realization was really quite an awakening for me. Anyobody with me?

Honestly, I am understanding more why Jesus tells us to be like little children. Read this article by the Rebolutionaries to further understand what I mean...

  1. word jazz. I feel you.

I think a lot of people our age are also missing out on the bible in a general sense. Like reading all of it and really digging for what it's saying. I think memorizing verses is awesome and I'm goning to start doing it, but I think it's more important to not only know, but understand the general messages of the bible.

and like they've been mentioning at youth group. knowing the facts and history about the bible that make it so unique.
